Location: Sidney's, Jost van Dyke
The day started when we woke up at 5:45 AM. There was a nice mist over Mount Sage, aka the mountain we were about to climb. I heard lots of stories about how people feel and rolled down the mountain from the returning campers. Of course, I didn’t want to be one of those people. When we finally started hiking the steep road (mountain), everyone was all together. Soon others tried to run up the hill, but soon realized they had three more miles of uphill. Instead of complaining how hard the uphill was, we sang songs from Frozen the movie or even throwback songs from the ’90s/ Sometimes it felt like you weren’t even hiking a huge mountain because everyone was having too much fun. When I finally made it up to the peak, it was still covered in a mist. We all got to sign this book that showed everyone who had made it to the top. We all rewarded ourselves with cold banana smoothies. I think we also forgot about how we had to climb down the mountain. People had different methods of conquering the downhill. Some sprinted down, but I don’t know if that was the best idea because you could end up on your face or not being able to stop yourself. When we all finally finished hiking the mountain, we feasted on burgers and ice cream. After a hard hike, we motored over to Sandy Key to have a sand building contest. We might not have won, but I know we had a creative idea. There were no other sand snowmen in the BVI! Now we are getting ready to go to Sydney’s for dinner and having a dance-off with all the boats anchored next to us.
