Title: Crazy 8 (actually, day 8 messed up numbers before)
This morning I (Cam) woke up to blasting music disturbing the peace of the calm cool morning. Yep, finally, a morning where I didn’t wake up burning hot. Within minutes of waking up, we were fed by our amazing chefs (Holden and Katie), and we were all out the door and on a dinghy on the way to paddle boarding. Holden and Andrew fought for their lives while Paddle Boarding as the high winds dragged them far away from the boat, but after a long battle, they made it back. Next, the advanced scuba divers did a practice dive where we practiced underwater navigation. The open water divers did a snorkel in the mangroves, where Lilliana and Suki spotted a turtle. Amaya said she saw an eel, but no one believed her as no one else saw it.
We then set off to water sports and everyone had a story to tell after due to the high winds causing choppy waters. Dawson and I got to go side by side while he knee-boarded, and I skied, and then he got a little nap at the front of the ski boat. Jovian and Pearl found a way to use the kneeboard as a tube, which was a blast in the huge swell and choppy water of the ski channel. We then had deli sandwiches for lunch (again). Which wasn’t the most appealing, so most of us dug into the candy bags we got the day before, which didn’t end up feeling the best when we sailed zest for the 4th and last activity of the day. Sailing the zest was crazy as the wind was crazy. Everyone capsized, including Amaya and Kennedy, who also got dragged out to the boat channel and had to get saved, but at least they had a great story to tell from it. For dinner, we had risotto and chicken Caesar salad and had a good game of squeeze, which ended up with the floor lava. Gavin took the victory. Lastly, Holden took out the day with an intro that gave everyone a good chuckle. Today was a great day, and my boat and I had fun adventuring around together. Can’t wait for another great day tomorrow and a night dive for the advanced divers.
