Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay

Today we were abruptly woken by dance music at the ripe hour of 7:00. For breakfast. We had oatmeal that some people had to eat with forks because of the “spoon shortage”—the day started with a 60ft dive that certified many in the group as open water divers! Casey, Macie, Max, and I were in a group today with K-POP Kaleigh as our instructor. We saw a massive lobster along with many (harmless) jellyfish. Casey and Macie practiced their CESA (Controlled Emergency Swimming Assent) while Max and I practiced flips on the bottom of the ocean because we finished our CESA the previous day. Once we finished our dive, we hurried back to our boat that had transformed into a “Chaos Raft” with many other boat crews already aboard. We were rafted up with a monohull that had a boom swing. Many crew members had very quickly indulged in the swing, such as Ariana, who did a flip off of the swing, followed by Ericas 360. Will, Niko, and I went water sporting with Max and Anya supervising. Will started us off by going out of the wake while kneeboarding. Then I got up on one ski while waterskiing, followed by a humbling fall. Niko was very eager to break his 360 record, which was gracefully broken with 54 consecutive 360s, which was boasted over the VHF. Then Max and Anya took turns water sporting, which was quickly ended by rain. Meanwhile, Jon is having the time of his life sailing a zest in the strong wind and rain.
A while later, we started our voyage to the BBQ with a man-overboard practice situation. Once we arrived at the BBQ, Maddy lowered the anchor, which decided to be difficult and kept drifting, so we had to re-drop the anchor. We then went to the BBQ and enjoyed ourselves while socializing with other boats. I was walking back to the drop-off when I almost walked directly into Bridget, Will, and Caroline, who were buried in the sand up to their head. We then got back to the boat, took showers, and had our wind down for the day. Very excited for tomorrow!
