Location: Anegada

Today began bright and early with monsoon-level rains at 5:30 this morning, and we began our oatmeal breakfast at 7 am. In the morning, we had a two-hour sail from Leverick Bay to Anegada. Erica and Macie raised the sail as we began our sail training for the day. Along the way, many of us had the opportunity to read and take pictures before the rain began again. After dropping our anchor, we learned about preserving the coral reefs for our Coral Reef Conservation Certification specialty. Following this, we ate deli sandwiches carefully prepared by Niko, who surprised us all with his onion-cutting skills. Then, Jon channeled his inner drip king with pink zinc. After we were ready and had built up enough team sprit for our boat, we hopped in the dinghy and headed to the beach for the boat Olympics (an epic showdown between boats for bragging rights). The games began with everyone learning a cheer introduced to us by Anya.

Caroline and Ariana had learned the hand movements almost immediately while many of us had struggled. After a disappointing first game, Max had great success as he won the Fender Rodeo for our team. This game was followed by an extreme relay race that consisted of digging a hole in the sand under a paddle, swimming to a dinghy, climbing up onto it, jumping off, and swimming back to our team. The relay team was Bridget, Alex, Jon, Maddy, and Me(Casey). After that, we played a game called two-hand touch, Will and Erica made it into the finals and almost won! In the end, we came a close second place but still had a great time. After returning back to the boat, we took a shower and sailed to the other side of Anegada Island. Later, we ate risotto with Caesar salad and chicken prepared by our chefs of the day, Alex and Niko.
