Hey y’all it’s Laurel writing today! We woke up this morning to the best wake up song ever, “Turn My Swag On.” It got Leila and River in the mood to get our breakfast ready of oatmeal and fruit. With a quick turn around we headed straight into water sports! Carlie killed it wakeboarding this morning, and JT sped us all around for some early morning “zoomies.” But don’t forget as JT says he is just a dive instructor. Next we had a lesson on RDP tables and then took a quiz and an exam. Kaya, Alivia, and Sahil all got one hundreds! Then we were supposed to go paddle boarding with Emma, but instead we were being really productive and getting the RDP exam done. So instead we got an early lunch of peanut butter and jelly and deli sandwichs, and a quick dishy pit and deckie. After lunch we got our first certification of the trip, PADI Aware Coral Conservation. That’s bananas! Then it was shower time! As the best boat in the fleet, we sailed to Leverick Bay, while all the other boats in the fleet lamely motored over. Dillon sweated up the main sail! Once we got to Leverick, less than ten minutes later, we had phone time, I was very happy to FaceTime my dogs back home. Love you Charlie and Loretta! And we also got snacks at the market. Finally the first barbecue of the camp! We had pulled pork sandwichs and hot dogs, with watermelon, pasta salad, and salad. Lucky for Leila and River they didn’t have to make it. Arthur, Avery, and Grace spent all night on the dance floor! Tonight we had to have a pre-dinner squeeze in the dinghy to the barbecue, my squeeze question was “what is one thing you can’t live without that isn’t a fundamental human necessity?” Michelle’s answer was ice cream, and I totally agree, specifically bubblegum ice cream! We got back to the boat and everyone was exhausted from the day and immediately went to bed. So now it’s my turn to get ready for bed and rest up for a big day tomorrow.
