What’s up, everyone? It’s Henry, your skipper for today. Gwen blessed us with some hot scrambled eggs this morning. We enhanced the flavor of them with plenty of Hot Sauce. Today we had a rotation day, and following breakfast, we left “Odyssey” on dinghies to “MaryLee” and “Meow or Never”. We all tanned and relaxed for a bit before swiftly being taken to “Amused” for our first rotation, scuba diving. Most scuba diving groups are almost finished with the necessary lessons and skills needed to get our PADI Open Water Certificates. I think this scuba diving session was one of the funniest 30 minutes of my life.
Robert decided to develop his ability to do underwater backflips and proceeded to do 10 in quick succession. Tony taught his group how to blow rings of bubbles underwater, Makena and Ellie claimed to see multiple stingrays, and Ben did handstands on the ocean floor. Ella flipped upside down and couldn’t quite figure out how to right herself, so when she finally did, she turned and faced her group, who were all uncontrollably laughing. After a good hour and a half of scuba diving, we all returned back to our own boat and gorged on some tasty PBandJs. Lunch was cut short when another dinghy came to pick it up for some afternoon activities. We were able to paddle board, zest (small boat sailing), waterski, and wakeboard. Miles, Jack, and Owen impressed everyone by successfully sailing the zest with only their feet and only flipping it five times. Owen also decided to embody a pirate as he sailed up to Evie, Makena, and my boat, jumped on, capsized us, then jumped back onto his boat and sailed away. In fact, I think Owen sailed with almost everyone, and he and Sipora were a dynamic duo, by far the best zesters of the day.
Sophia spent some of the rotation time laying in the sun, reading a book, of all things. I’m still not sure how she had that discipline—the rotation day finished at around 4. We had quick showers and got changed into nice clothes for a beach BBQ. Tony taxied us from the boat to land, and the whole of Action Quest was there. We ate burgers and hotdogs and drank “Action Juice,” which was a mix of Sprite and Pineapple juice. Because there were no tables, everyone climbed up the rocks running along the beach to eat. We returned to the boat and winded down by playing card games and chatting. Everyone seemed tired at the end of the fun, eventful day. Sending love to Mama, Papa, Ollie, and Bea.
