Location: Marina Cay
Today was an awesome day. We woke up and had a nutritious breakfast of eggs, cereal, and coffee cake-flavored muffins. Then the dolphins proceeded to go on their research dive while the Neptune group went on their deep water dive. The Neptunes recovered a necklace that was lost by one of our shipmates and other trinkets at almost 90ft under. The research divers started to practice collecting data using quadrats and transect lines measuring benthic coverage. We measured at different spots along the transect line at 10,20,30, and 40 feet and wrote down the percentage coverage of everything we saw. 🪸 Then, we went to Moorings Base port, where we were allowed to go spend some of our spending money. We therefore got food. Then, we got back on our boat to head to a super cool dive spot on the backside of the island. The ride was super rocky, so we were told to take seasickness medicine if we were prone to seasickness, but I didn’t need to take any because I just went to sleep. Then, we went diving at the super cool dive spot called Alice in Wonderland. We saw many super cool creatures, including sharks and stingrays, and lobsters. Then we headed back to join the fleet of ActionQuesters in Marina Cay, where we ate an awesome dinner of rice and chili before taking our ocean showers and ending the night with our nightly “squeeze”. I can’t wait for more epic days on this beautiful boat that I now call home!!!
