Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

Hi parents (and other family members),
To start off our day, Loren and Aliya had brought us all yogurt and bagels with cream cheese. When we finished up our breakfast, Max and Jorge had to do a deep clean as the deckies due to crumbs from the night before. As soon as that was done, all of us rushed to get our clothes, sunscreen, and shoes on for a small hike. When on the beach, Max, Jorge, Margaret (counselor), and I found a lot of hermit crabs in the sand and picked them up. We named them Johnathan, Timmy, and Joey. When the rest of the boat had gotten to the beach, we started to walk on the trail. We had brought the hermit crabs on the trail, but soon left them on the rocks so we would not hurt them going up the hike. While walking, more and more of these huge hermit crabs appeared on the trail. Max had picked one up, and it was relatively chill. But many people were feeling freaked out. When we got to the top of the mountain, the group had turned around, heading back to the beach. Our second rotation, Diving, was one of my favorites. When we got to our next boat, we set up our dive gear. I was one of the first ones to be ready, but the bad part was that I had to stand for about 10 minutes with heavy gear on. One funny thing about this part of our day was when Margo had to grab a really big oxygen tank, and she could barely move. When everybody had finished getting ready to dive, my group members, Lulu and Aliya, had to group up with me, and all of us had to buddy check our gear together. When we were done, our dive master (and temporary dive master) had instructed us to do the big stride into the water. When we were all in, the 5 of us had started the last of our skills to be certified for confined open water dives. Our skills consisted of taking off our mask and swimming, staying neutrally buoyant, inflating our BCDs orally, taking our regulator halfway out and pushing the purge button for small sips of air, and much more. While Lulu was completing a skill that Aliyah and I had already done, an albino crab caught the order of my eye. We picked it up and had been playing with it for a little bit. We then played with the sand lying down (maintaining our buoyancy, obviously), but soon got called back to do our next skill. When we came up and out of the water, our group had to go to the bow and take our gear apart. After I had taken my gear apart, the whole group had just chilled out and waited for the next dinghy for our other rotation. Our third rotation had consisted of sailing zests and paddleboarding. By this time in the day i was tired so i stayed in the shade and talked to Poppy for 45 minutes about New York and Ohio. Even though I did not zest, I saw Jorge and Max going Mach 2 in the boat through the boat’s binoculars. After the zesting and the paddleboarding, everyone came in and went onto the second floor. As soon as I had arrived, we all began to sing a bunch of Spanish songs that had started to play. We sang to Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, and many more. We were all having a blast, but that unfortunately correlates to the saying, time flies when you have fun, so as fast as we got there, we had to leave. Due to it being 12 o’clock, naturally, we had lunch. This lunch was one of the best so far because we had those really yummy grilled cheese, ham, and cheese sandwiches. Our next rotation had to be my second favorite of the day. This rotation was skiing. This consisted of us being pulled by a dinghy with a knee board, water ski(s), and/or wakeboard. When I got in the dinghy with Bea, Lulu, Aliya, Loren, Max, and Jorge, we had really stepped on the gas and all of us had nearly gotten flung off. When we got to our point of water sports, Max had gone first with the wakeboard and was jumping up and down through the wake, which we all thought was impressive. Next up was Jorge, following the leader by doing the wakeboard. For his first time getting up today, he was doing jumps and attempted to do a 360. he did not get it on his first attempt and smacked into the water. He wanted to go again, but soon his decision would take a horrible turn. When he was in the water, jellyfish were swimming around him, and 2 of them started to sting him. One of them was smacked away by his hand (he didn’t get stung during that process), but the other had gone up his shorts and started to sting his leg. When we started to go, he had gotten up, and it fell out of his pants. When we finally got him back to the boat, it turned out to be a couple of stings, and it sure was an anxiety-inducing moment, but he is okay! In the other dinghy, after helping Jorge, most of the boat had already gone on another dinghy to go on a fast adventure. Xavi, Jimena, Zach, Max, and others had gotten on this dinghy. I had stayed to accompany Jorge but when they were back, Lulu, Aliya, Max, Jorge, Bea, and i went on our own little adventure. Max and I went kneeboarding and got flung off so fast (it was very fun). When we got back, another dinghy had taken all of us back to our boat (G2BH), where we had our ocean showers, which were really fun. Some of us used a bucket to bathe due to the jelly in the water. When we were all rinsed off, I had noticed that Siena and Will had made us a really delicious (Mexican night) dinner. When I had gotten changed and came up for eats, I had accidentally overpacked my burrito and had to use two tortillas. For my food, I used beans, tomato, beef, (lots of) rice, and lettuce. Most people had a burrito bowl, but I was relatively happy with my double-decker burrito. After dinner, a big dishy pit was put into place where the dishies had to wash every dish from morning until now. When we were all done, Max and Jorge had started a chain reaction of doing a really hard deckie scrubbing. Toby had to stand and watch us as we cleaned the boat because he likes to speak to us while we work hard on the boat. To end this very long story about our day (im being told iv been writing a lot) Will had just finished fixing our generator that has been off for the past 2 days (Thank you so much Will). If you read this whole thing, thank you, and have a great night, morning, or evening. P.S. This was for your mother. Enjoy this blog.
