Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Hi parents, today was a very chill day. We started off the day with Jorge and Max making us a healthy breakfast of breakfast burritos, blueberry muffins, and fruit. We didn’t have an activity in the morning, so we got to hang out for longer. The open water diving people had to take a quiz, but it wasn’t like just any of our other diving quizzes; it was the final exam! Aliya, Margo, Poppy, Raiden, and I took our very scary exam, and we don’t know if we passed yet, but we wish us luck. After that, Siena and Will taught us how to make Turkish head bracelets with a piece of rope. Now we all have matching anklets. Like I said, it was a very chill morning, so we didn’t really have much to do on the boat. Me and Aliya got really hot and decided to take a swim.
We had a very yummy lunch of ramen. Right after, we headed over to the dive boat to get ready for our first dive of the day. We were getting ready, and the oxygen tankers were really heavy to carry, but we had to breathe. Aliya, Raiden, and I are all in a group together with our amazing teacher, Amanda. The other open water group is Margo, Zach, and Poppy, but they go with another instructor. The advanced people who were Jorge, Max, Jimena, Xavi, Loren, and Bea went off with Toby to do fish ID. My group was the first group to get in the water.
We swam over to the front of the boat, but there were so many jellyfish, and Aliya and I got stung a couple of times, which was not fun, but she is okay. My group decided and worked on a couple of skills before going for a little swim around the ocean floor. All the fish were so cute! After we came up to the surface, we swam back to the boat, which we had about twenty minutes before we had to get back in and swim back down and look at the fish again. After we got done, we were all really tired and hungry. When we got back to the boat, we had a Thanksgiving dinner. After dinner, the day was not over yet. We had to do a sail chat. Some kids came to our boat for a chat, and we got to talk to them. After everyone left, Siena put sparkly tinsel in our hair, which was super duper nice of her. We got ready for bed, and Raiden gave me, Aliya, and Margo foot massages, and they felt really good. It was a super duper fun day overall, and I am so ready to have more throughout the duration of this trip!
