Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Hi, hi, loyal readers. This is important, top secret info coming straight from the mighty Oryx stationed on Vixen Point. The message is relayed by your skipper for today, Ada. The message is enclosed with the exhausting details of our super lit day. Wake up was at 7:00 per usual; however, Sam, Jacob, George, Kellan, Bella, and I woke up at the ripe hour of 6:30 to get a workout in. We are going to come home, buff everyone, don’t worry. Today was, once again, a rotation day. We started off having a pretty lazy morning consisting of cereal, fruit, and knot-tying.
Then the day ramped up a good bit when we turned the knot-tying into a relay race. One team stood on the port side and the other on the starboard. We took turns tying bowline knots around ourselves, and either Siena or Annika would lean us out over the back of the boat by our tied rope. If we did not have a correct knot, you would be dropped into the water. Sam and Elin were the only ones who, unfortunately, fell into the water. Molly and Grace got to be insanely fast at the knots! Can’t really see the same in me, though. However, I know I got some hilarious photos from this (got a little click happy). Not to brag, but Maci, Chloe, Bella, and I were on all three of the winning sides :). Following that rotation, Luke and Annika drove us out to some mangroves to snorkel. Saw a lot of colorful fish and shells. A few of us even mastered blowing rings underwater!
Once we got back to the boat, we had some free time and created a “wipe out” course with the tied-up paddle boards. Safe to say we witnessed many gnarly wipeouts. Ate yummy Mac and cheese made by Sam and Molly. The next rotation was paddleboarding. Margot and Kellan won the race using their crazy speed and skills. We had a great time jumping onto each other’s boards and tipping them. Finally, we headed out on the dinghies for water sports. Kellan and Maci remain the pros of wakeboarding, but did get knocked off by a couple of waves. Chloe tried out the wakeboard today and made some good progress with it. Personally, my arms ache from attempting, and I only got up for a couple of seconds. For dinner, we enjoyed garden burgers, mashed potatoes, and baked beans made, once again, by Sam and Molly. We do something every night called “squeeze,” where we go around and say something we appreciate and answer a question posed by the skipper (me!). I asked everyone how they liked their eggs and got a wide variety of answers. We then squeeze each other’s hands once and do something the skipper came up with. Tonight I chose tag, which had everyone running around the boat until I captured Siena. Jacob has been hard at work studying his sailing terminology, as he is one step ahead in sailing than the rest of us. All in all, today was a spectacularly tiring day filled with lots of speculation of rizz throughout all corners of the camp.
With love,
Ada and the editing skills of Sigma Port Jib
