Location: Sommer's Beach, Tortola
Hey parents,
Today, we woke up around 7:30 in Muskmelon🍈 and headed slowly to Sommers Beach, where we will be all night. We had to pump tanks from last night’s dive, so it was a slow motor. While underway, we ate eggs 🥚🍳and blueberry muffins made by Shane and Wylie. We then cleaned up and prepared to do our third and last navigation dive. Before we set up gear to dive🤿, Ellery and I went with Ri to place the secondary anchor⚓️. We then set up our scuba gear and briefed about what we were going to do. During our dive, we used headings while making a pentagon. It was like a scavenger hunt. At each point of the pentagon, there was a slate and a pencil for us to sign off that we made it there. After completing the navigation skill🧭, we stayed underwater, and I and Ellery, along with everyone else, got spun around to symbolize vertigo underwater. We got spun by Tommy and had to show which way was pointing upwards. Then, we practiced our out-of-air skills with our buddies and ascended. For lunch, we had white bean soup. After that, we cleaned up and briefed for our rescue exits. We then did rescue exits which were the fireman and lifeguard tows. Everyone attempted them and had fun. The group then showered in salt water, and all the girls spent a couple of hours preparing for the beach barbecue. We all took pictures and hung out while getting ready and then dingying over to the beach📸. While the girls were getting ready, JJ, Asa, Wylie, Lanie, and Riley played uno. Our staff went over a bit earlier because this barbecue is cooked by dive site staff. We got there around six and had hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone hung out with other boats while eating food and having handmade pineapple sprite. We ended the day with freshwater showers then squeeze. Hi, Mom, Dad, and siblings. Say hi to Dodger.
P.S. Everyone else says hi to their families and friends as well.
