Location: Cane Garden Bay, Tortola

Today started off with an early morning motor to Shark Point; however, when we got there, there was no mooring ball in the water so we had to switch locations and motored to the Pinnacles. When we got there, I helped Rachel and Tommy hook the mooring ball. Once we got there, we had oatmeal and fruit for breakfast to fuel up for our dive. The conditions at this site were very rough and choppy, so everyone was extremely excited to begin the dive. While we were underwater, we saw a white spotted moray eel, a squadron of squid, and two pinnacles. This was a very healthy reef that had so much life on it for us to explore. After we finished our dive, we motored to Cane Garden Bay; when we got there, Gabi, JJ, Lanie, and Lily helped throw lines and set up buoys to get on the dock. We hung out on the boat while the Staff filled up our water tanks. After we left the docks and headed to Brewers Bay, our chefs, Lily and Logan, prepared quesadillas. This was one of everyone’s favorite lunches we have had so far. After lunch, it began pouring down rain, and everyone had the best time. We had a dance party on the roof, and everyone jumped in the water. As the rain ended, we set up for Search and recovery dive #3. This dive included the Jackstay pattern, where one needs two weights and a reel. After you set out your line fully with a weight on both ends, you swim along in by pinching the line. When you reach the end of the line, one would move the line two arm lengths over and continue this process on both sides until you find the object you were looking for. Everyone successfully completed the dive. The first group of two buddy pairs included Gabi, Ellery, Shane, and Lily. While they went down, Riley, Lanie, Tatum, Asa, Logan, Wylie, and I all played Uno. When the first group got to the surface, the following buddy pair groups went down. While on the dive, Tatum and I saw a baby stingray, and everyone else said they did, too. After this dive, everyone came up and tanned on the hardtop until we took showers…. usually we would ocean shower and take a quick freshwater rinse; however, we had broken our hose yesterday, so we had the lovely experience of taking freshwater pitcher showers: each person could use one pitcher worth of freshwater after the ocean. (Dont worry – Ri fixed the hose after dinner when he got the parts needed) After showers, we hung out in the galley, and Rachel taught us how to play a different style of Uno, which continued during the sail to where we would be staying for the rest of the night. While hooking the mooring ball in Cane Garden Bay we were greeted by the presence of dolphins. For dinner, Lily and Logan cooked red Thai curry chicken, and everyone loved it. The sunset after dinner was beautiful, and to end the night, we had MOVIE NIGHT! – The Greatest Showman

Goodnight! We can’t wait to talk to everyone tomorrow while we have our phones for the 7-mile hike.
