Adventure, thrill, and passion are three words I would use to describe today. My name is Marianna, and I’m the skipper of the day (which means I get to tell you all about the exceptional day we had today). Today was rotation day, which meant we rotated through activities such as water sports, sailing, scuba diving, and driving dinghies.
Our first activity was sailing, which we did on Zest boats. I was teamed up with Krisi, and we did amazing (we didn’t capsize the boat). In the end, I wanted to capsize it on purpose, but Krisi was not up for it. Luckily, she agreed to capsize it with me next time. Also, Reid and Evan capsized their boat multiple times, and they were having a lot of fun flipping it back up. Angie and Lorelai also did amazing and saved their boat from capsizing when it was tiping over, and the sail was in the water.
Our second activity was scuba diving, which I was very scared about because all the lovely PADI videos made me traumatized. Nonetheless, after going underwater and opening my eyes to a new horizon, I figured I had nothing to be scared about. I took my first breaths underwater with Sedora, Gabby, and our instructor, Megan. Sedora saw a jellyfish (which was pretty cool). Additionally, the advanced open water divers saw a cool nurse shark.
The third activity was my favorite; we did wakeboarding. I was so excited and did 360s, which was really cool. Krisi, Sedora, and Ella were also on my boat, and they did amazing while knee-boarding. We listened to music and bonded with Mia and Aiden. I also heard Reid did amazing wakeboarding, and Evan was struggling but had a great time. Vanessa also told me she lost four nails while wakeboarding, so this is your sign that you should not bring fake nails to Action Quest. Leila also had an amazing time knee-boarding and called it the highlight of her day.
Lastly, we learned to drive Dinghies. I was on a boat with Krisi, Sedora, Ella, Evan, and Reid. We all had a good time and practiced man-overboard drills.
Next, we had dinner, which Elias, Krisi, and Vanessa helped out with since they were the chefs of the day. I also want to make an honorable mention to Vanessa, who has helped with cooking. I also heard Ella saw cool sharks and fish under the boat which she found fantastic. Lastly, I want to include that everyone missed their parents, but we are all growing together as a family.
