Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Today we woke up at Sandy Spit after yesterday’s beach party. We quickly realized we had been pranked by another boat in the fleet called Good Times. So we cleaned up the mess they had made on the bow of the boat and hard top. While setting up breakfast, we realized Good Times had also stolen most of our cutlery, leaving behind nothing but a fork, knife, and spoon. So, unfortunately, most of us were left drinking our cereal. During cleanup, eight other student skippers joined us for a pre-first-race chat. We went over the race course (a straight shot from Jost Van Dyke to the West End marina) and the race rules (engines stay in neutral and no forcing other boats into land). Once the meeting was over, each skipper went back to their respective boats so we could begin the race at 9:00 sharp. Once the race started, we quickly let out the jib (the halyard was up before the race started). We gained the lead and ended up winning the first race! We then got money and our phones and went into the marina to have lunch, shop, and call home. Then at 12:45, there were other skippers meeting to go over the route for the second race (West End to Great Harber Peter). We had a rough start to the second race and ended up coming in third place. Once we got to GHP, we put on our bathing suits and had ocean showers, and made dinner which was tacos/ taco bowls. After dinner, we cleaned up and got ready for bed. Tomorrow we dive the Rhone!
