Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
This morning we woke up to some delicious French toast and geared up for a dive. The dive was part of the underwater naturalist certification. We were tasked with finding different types of symbiosis along with predator-prey interactions. Me and my dive bubbly Joey got a little lost for a minute, but we made it back. They’re some beautiful big rock formations with some amazing coral and fish. Our dive was followed by a trip to Vixen Bay, where we ate lunch and got to shop for a bit. After Vixen Point and a bit of time with our phones to call home, we had an incredible snorkel in mangroves with lots of adolescent fish and some new coral and plants with some baby barracudas. It was a nice change of ecosystem from coral reef to mangroves. After the mangroves, we joined the other boats for some time on the beach playing with a football and playing chicken Joey, Hayden, and I made a stack of the three of us on our shoulders that only lasted a few seconds. Now we end the day with a beach party and cookout at Vixen Point.
