Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
We woke up early today and scrambled to get ready and eat breakfast by 7 am. We went to shore and got our phones back, along with a contact card in case of emergency. All of ActionQuest was gathered at the shore for a hike to the top of Mt. Sage, the highest point in the BVIs. The hardest part of the hike was the beginning, where we had to walk up a very tall, steep hill. A small group, including Max and Pablo, went running up the hill in order to reach the summit quickest. However, the majority started at a walking pace, but even that was difficult. At the summit, there was a book where we all signed our names and what number we reached the summit. The way down was much easier, and many people stopped at two shops along the path.
We descended into Cane Garden Bay, where most of us stopped to get lunch at a restaurant named Paradise. Most of us went to refill our snacks and other supplies while we were also in town. After 1 pm, we went to the dock to get shuttled back to the boat. We got back and sailed to Sandy Key, where we had a sandcastle contest. Diego, Pablo, Josh, Max, and I worked on a little city with a castle at the center, while Ella, Tate, JJ, and Eloise worked on a turtle nearby.
We set sail again, this time for Jost Van Dyke. We docked at Sydney’s and changed into more fancy clothes for the barbecue. After waiting for a while on the boat, we got off the boat onto Sydney’s. We got food, and many of us went shopping there as well. Max and JJ danced for practically the whole time we were there, and JJ got crowd-surfed three times. We started to get back on the boat around 10 pm, which marked the end of the day. Today was a lovely day, and we’re looking forward to the last few days here.
