Welcome Aboard “Second Wind”! Meet the Crew:
Location: West End
A biggggg hello from the crew of Second Wind! After an awesome first session, we can not wait to get the second session underway! Here’s a little bit about us:
Kackie - Skipper
Kackie first joined the AQ team as a skipper in 2021 and is thrilled to come back for her third summer! After graduating high school in 2018, Kackie spent a year pursuing her RYA Yachtmaster 200t certification in Sydney, Australia. After completing her Yachtmaster, Kackie spent four months in South Africa, surfing and backpacking through coastal villages before starting her degree in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech. Despite currently living in Atlanta, there is nothing Kackie enjoys more than being on the water and sharing her love for sailing with others. Her favorite part of the ActionQuest experience is Race Day, where all the boats in the fleet engage in a big sailing race against each other. Kackie loves watching her students get super excited to apply the sailing skills they have learned to win the race!
Jake - Dive Instructor
Jake is excited to share his love of diving and the ocean this summer with ActionQuest! Jake grew up on a small diving island in Honduras, where he lives and works as a Scuba instructor. The son of Irish and Canadian ex-pat parents, he grew up experiencing a unique blend of cultures. Jake started scuba diving at the age of 7, started solo traveling at 15, and has been to many different countries but always came back to scuba and the ocean. He has spent the last few years traveling around Central America and Australia, surfing and diving.
Mackenzie - Dive Instructor
Mackenzie fell in love with scuba diving in Phuket, Thailand, and that short trip became three years spent traveling and diving around Southeast Asia. After graduating from Penn State University, she earned her instructor certification in Gili Trawangan, Lombok, Indonesia, where she taught for a year and dove with turtles daily! When she’s not teaching at ActionQuest, she works full-time for Global Expeditions Group as an enrollment advisor and prepares for the summer.
Can’t wait to get on the water with you all! See you so soon.
