Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
We started off the day right with chocolate chip pancakes and pineapple for breakfast made by our skillful chefs, Lea and Abby. Then we all put on our PFDs and set sail for Trellis. There were quite a few cool shops that we stopped into. For lunch, Jamie, Lea, and I got some coffee at the cafe. Sofia, GG, Jamie, Helena, Lea, and Arthur all had lunch together at one table, while Oliver, Cooper, Caspian, Liv, and Abby had lunch at another table nearby. The island was really interesting, with lots of exotic fruit for us to play around with and crack open, especially for Jamie. There were also some chickens that Oliver was asked to catch, but he declined the tempting offer. After our shore time, we headed back on the dinghy to our boat and set sail for musk melon. On the way, we practiced our man overboard skills. The fender was thrown overboard; Liv and Cooper jumped in the dinghy and recovered the fender most heroically, while Arthur caught the line and brought them home to Mango Tango. Shortly after, watch team 2 took over practicing. I was the spotter for the fender while Oliver steered; it was yet another success. Watch team 3 conclude our M.O.B. practice for the day on a positive note. Afterward, we moored and got started on our ocean showers. Usually, our showers are pretty smooth and relaxing, but today there was an unexpected caveat – jellyfish! Most of them floated away, and we carried on into dinner, which was chili with rice and saltines. Yet another beautiful day in the BVI’s together in the books!
