ActionQuest Summer Solstice
Location: Sidney’s, Jost van Dyke
Today was the best and longest day at ActionQuest. We started off by waking up at 6am to hike the highest mountain in the Virgin Islands. When we got on our dinghy it started downpouring. So we had to hike with soggy shoes. We had to take many breaks along the way, but finally 4 miles of uphill later, we reached the top. The view was awesome! After taking multiple pictures we hiked/ran down the mountain to get cheeseburgers in paradise. Yumm! We explored the island, going into the various shops and markets before we headed back out to sea for our next destination: sand castle building. We buried Jerry our shipmate in the sand and made him a hula girl with leaves as hair, palm tree leaves as a skirt, and a coconut top. Although we did not win the contest, we got many laughs on the way. We left that uninhabited island for our final destination today. We rafted up with the other sail side boats at Jost van Dyke island for another BBQ. There was a live band and awesome food. There was even tightrope walking. I enjoyed talking with the other boats and am so sad there are only five days left! Awww! Today was definitely the best day yet!

Scrubbin’ The Boat
Location: Cane Garden Bay, Tortola
Today was a chill day. We woke up, ate breakfast, and dinghied over to Magpie Bridge to learn how to make bracelets/anklets. After the Carinas and Vegas all went for a dive. The Carinas went 60 feet and we spotted a moray eel. After the dive we all went back to Vivo Libre to go waterskiing and and wakeboarding. We were so excited! But when we got on Vivo we were told that we had to clean the deck before we did anything. We all sighed but cleaning actually turned out to be a lot of fun. We blasted the music, took out the sponges, and ended up overdoing it on the softscrub. But at least the boat got clean! And we were able to go wakeboarding and waterskiing!
Location: Sommer’s Beach, Tortola
Today we had a rotation day and we learned how to make Turk’s Heads (they are these really cool bracelets/anklets that look like they are braided all the way around), went diving (Carina’s had their first deep dive and saw an eel!!) then had some yummy lunch of chicken salad sandwiches, and finally went wakeboarding! Almost everyone who tried this trip has gotten up! The only bad thing is when you face plant on your face haha! Tonight we are having a beach BBQ with all the other boats from ActionQuest and I”m very excited! Tonight means no dishes, yayy! ActionQuest really is a load of fun and as excited as I am to come home, I’m honestly very upset 🙁

7am Waking Up In The Morning
Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Today Vivo Libre slept in until 7am. What a treat! We had our nice pancake breakfast without plates. After breakfast we made our way to Great Dog where the winds were heavy. All divers on our boat went for a dive in the pouring rain. We then had an amazing lunch which consisted of tortilla soup and PB+J. After lunch we went to George Dog where Dan and I cleaned the bottom of Phoenix while it was still in the water. We then all made some delicious hot chocolate. After, we got ourselves to Muskmelon Bay where we all said hello to the other boats. Luigi, Jonathan, and Luka were champs and did a front flip off of the boat. After dinner we had an amazing cake for Callie’s birthday. Tonight we have another fun sail chat with Mike. Yay!

It Was A Sunny Day
Location: Marina Cay
The weather was pretty sunny, dude. That’s actually a pretty boring start to my log.. It was Callie’s birthday today!!! We went to port and had a lot of fun. I was going to buy her (Callie) a present, but I already bought her a bracelet. So, we’ve been sailing a lot, even though it rained. We went to a really cool spot to eat lunch (we were surrounded by islands on the sides of our boat). I wish I took a picture! I do have a sad part to my story though. While cleaning the head I bleached my shirt. Oh, and I saw a really pretty rock today. I named it the Third Musketeer.
