Harbor House Out

Hello hello 😏, today was a very fun and anticipated day for the entirety of our boat. We woke up at around 7:00 and had pancakes for breakfast. Patrick was the chef and cooked about half of them, and then Henry stepped in and cooked the other half. We had WAY more than enough pancakes, but I would rather have too much than too little, and it’s hard to go wrong with pancakes. We then cleaned up from breakfast and prepared for the sail to Road Town, the capital of Tortola. We motored to Road Town near the Moorings Marina and got dropped off at around 11:00 on land. We were also given the forgotten luxury of our phones for a time on land. All of us ate lunch at a restaurant right where we got dropped off, along with a majority of the other ActionQuest participants. Our table ordered a variety of food: Gramps and I ordered BBQ Burgers with bacon, Eli and Patrick ordered fish burgers, Alex had a chicken Caesar burger, and Henry and Kevin ordered BBQ wings. The food was pretty good, but that might’ve just been because we’ve only had real food from land a few times this trip, and we all were hungry. The BBQ wings were good as well, but not as good as Pussers’ wings on day 13. After lunch, we walked from the restaurant to the Moorings Base, where most boats are chartered from in the BVI, including the boats from our fleet. The walk over there was super fun. We got to see many different cool houses and brightly colored buildings, along with a super dripped up dude with gold grills, a massive, heavy gold chain, and gold earrings with dreads. When we got to the Moorings Base, we saw the counselors and began to look around. We hit the grocery store, where Gramps, of course, bought more Oreos, and Henry, unsurprisingly, bought another 8-pack of Dr Pepper, and Patrick donated a Red Bull to Toby.

We then visited two other stores, where I bought two shirts. The other store was primarily a dive shop that had rash guards and dive equipment, but there were also some cool hats, shirts, and shorts there. At 2:15, we boarded our boat that was getting refueled at the docks, and we made our last phone calls and Gramps played his last Brawl Stars match before we gave up our phones(he lost). We left the dock with enough gas and water to be able to get to Little Saint James Island. Unfortunately, we couldn’t explore Little Saint James Island or go there at all, so we went to The Bight at Norman Island. We hung out in the water for a while, throwing Alex’s balls at each other while we were jumping off the boat. We then showered, and the staff left our boat for a staff meeting. Patrick attempted to make hot dogs in a pan, but it was all good. We had hot dogs, rice, and beans for dinner, which was alright. We then cleaned up after and did a squeeze. I chose to do hide and seek for the end-of-squeeze activity, and Skyler and Annika won by jumping into the water and holding on to the mooring ball. The other staff on the boat was in the sail bag, and Kevin was in the water sports equipment bag. Henry was stripping the toilet. Patrick was hiding on Little Saint James Island. Tomorrow is our last full day at ActionQuest. This seems like a long trip, but the time slipped away from us like sand in between my fingers after I put Froot Loops in between the toes of Gramps.
