Today we woke up in Sommers to grey clouds that did not seem very friendly and when we first set out for Brewer’s Bay, the waves consisted of pretty big swells. Plus the downward wind wasn’t very encouraging to a first time cat sailor, but we got there safe and sound! We dove at Shark Point for our second underwater naturalist dive where we searched for symbiotic relationships in the water along with human interactions that caused bad effects on the coral. One of the biggest highlights of the day I think was swimming through a natural tunnel that was formed by giant rocks in the water. The dive took about 40 minutes so we headed back to Odyssea for a Yummy sandwich lunch. I find it funny that at the beginning of this trip everyone was timid about eating and (sort of) polite and now when its a “build your own lunch” everyone is completely snarffing their food down and the table ends up a complete mess! I like it though, it just shows how comfortable we all are with each other, I love our boat, the people are phenomenal! After lunch the Neptunes and Dolphins split up so the Neptunes could hear a lecture about gear and Dolphins went off to tag some more turtles, like they did yesterday. The gear talk for the Neptunes went pretty fast, so we started making different knots and bracelets with spare string on board with Grand Cru. When Odyssea’s Dolphins came back we learned that there were no turtles to be found in the bay. After that we packed up and headed to Cane Garden Bay. We motored which I was happy about, because there was still a down-ward wind. It was really cool coming into the bay because I recognized it as the place I got corn-rows braids the first time I came to the BVI’s. We loaded up with water and other essentials. We had our showers and had a yummy Thai Chicken rice dinner (compliments to Blake and Martin) and everyone is happy after a really good meal. Now the boat consists of making friendship bracelets that Courtney brought. We watched a presentation on the different animals living in the sea and how to act around them as scuba divers. The staff bathroom got clogged so Matt and Kris had to work while Matty and Marina from Grand Cru gave the presentation. Highlights of the day: Sky jumping around after find his Ipod in a rice bag and almost throwing him in the water. It was a great day. The mountain we hike tomorrow is looking down on us…
