What a job this is…

As I sit atop the opulent Magpie Bridge, I think to myself “does it get any better than this?” The clear answer seems to be no, but so you, the reader, can decide for yourselves, I will include an account of the day’s events. My day began bright and early with Tom Petty’s “Free Falling” convincing me to climb out of bed. I then proceeded to climb the steps to the cockpit where breakfast, and a terrain of lush green mountains, blue ocean, and the morning sun awaited me. Today’s meals were better than usual because I could eat with the knowledge that as skipper I would not be required to clean up afterwards (don’t worry Mom and Dad, I still helped). The day’s activities began immediately following a thorough cleaning. At this point the shipmates split into different groups; half of us learned to drive the dinghies while the other half hopped on the whaler to wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and waterskiing. Two hours were dedicated to these endeavors, and the groups switched halfway. Once the two hours were up we motored to the beach for our first flavor of scuba. This “flavor” manifested itself in the form of shock at breathing under water, and introduction to basic techniques such as signalling. Scuba was followed by a delicious lunch, after which we headed to the beach for an afternoon of lounging, playing, and hiking. The day concluded with some sunset chili, as well as a profound soul searching led by the AQ director Mike. I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I’m pretty sure we’re living the dream down here. So I’ll ask one more time, does it get any better than this?
