Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today, we had another early morning at 6:45 for rotation day. Breakfast for the day was oatmeal ( soggy oatmeal for those who dropped too much of the water) or cereal. After breakfast, we did our chores, and then we grabbed and put all our dive equipment into two dinghies for a navigation dive. During the dive, there were hundreds of moon jellyfish (they don’t sting) that were cool to touch, But everyone got stung by a few sea lice (they were all fine, don’t worry). After the dive, we went to the beach for a bit of zesty little boat driving (dinghy sailing for 1-3 people per boat). On the zesty boats, we had pirating wars, and obviously, my boat ( Jasmine, Brooklyn, and Riley ) was the best because we were the only boat to not capsize. Although Henry and Blake say that they did it on purpose, we all know it’s not true, but they beat us to the boat cause they had a head start, while Braydon and Redden successfully pirated one person, and the next took their boom off. After zesty boating, we went to Shamwari for knot tying. We finished knot tying early, so we all played stay on or swim trivia (Henry’s naming), where two people hold hands and lean over the edge of the deck over the water where you would either fall if you got the question wrong or stay and keep playing if you correctly answer. As we were leaving for lunch, one of the other groups on the zesty boats had a debacle (Henry word) where one of the two in the boat fell off. The other couldn’t keep the boat in control and capsized, but it was really funny because he would almost capsize but fall back over and over again for like 10 minutes before finally capsizing.
For lunch, we had Ramen. It was soooooooo good! After lunch, we stayed on the boat to dive, chat, and shower. Then we left Vixen Point ( the place we stayed overnight) to Leverick Bay to stay the night and have a fleet barbecue. The barbecue was so much fun, there was a DJ and a lot of crazy dancing. We all went crazy dancing until our feet hurt, and Canadian Chloe almost won the limbo. The party ended at 10 pm, and we came back to the boat and put all of our nasty clothes into laundry bags for the laundry run tomorrow. We also got brownies (Ayden’s baking ) after labeling the laundry bags. Now, we have our nightly late-night talking. That was day six at ActionQuest 2024!
