Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Hi, I’m Luke. I’m 15, and I’m from Cincinnati, Ohio. Today we had a later wake-up at 8, and after a bunch of cereal, we headed out to the shore. We spent a couple of hours sailing zest, paddle boarding, and playing football. Zests are small, compact versions of sailboats that can fit one to four people. Constantin, Oscar, and I took some time paddling around while Peyton, Sam, Hayley, and Sloane sailed the zests around other ActionQuest boats that had been anchored near our boat. Even though all of us turtled and got a little sunburned, we all had an amazing time on the beach and sailing. We also learned a lot about how the wind affects bigger boats from the zest. I got some steering tips from Grayson while we sailed the Zest with Sam. We ended our beach time with football with Mina and one of our counselors Riley. When we got back, we spent some time on the bow playing games like mafia and listening to a wide variety of music. We had to stay out of the salon (the inner part) for a while today since our counselors Riley and Amelia were hard at work fixing all our heads (restrooms) since the head that all five of us boys share breaks nearly every day. Since we all appreciate the work that our counselors do (especially with cleaning the heads), we plan on buying them all energy drinks and coffee tomorrow when we go to shore at Spanish Town. We ended the day with a Mexican night cooked by Hayley and Oscar. Today was a lot of fun, and we were all really glad it was a nice, relaxing day after the busy couple of days we’ve had lately.
