Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

Hey, my name is Grayson. I’m 14, and I live in Montclair, NJ. All morning we sailed, and our counselors gave us the opportunity to take the helm. Oscar, at one point, when he was told to gybe, turned too quickly away from the wind, and the boom came around really fast and was really funny (maybe not for the counselors). Everyone took turns taking the helm, which is what controls the rudders to turn the boat, pulling in the jib sheet and the main sheet. We stopped in Virgin Gorda for lunch at Bath and Turtle and later went to stop at a gift shop and ice cream. At the gift shop, Arawak, we bought some cards and are going to play after dinner. After we were on land for a couple of hours, we got back on the boat and took an ocean shower. Luke and Mina cooked dinner, which was risotto, salad, and corn. Today was another chill day, and the morale, especially after the teamwork in sailing, was at a great level, and everyone had a great time.
