Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Our day began with a quick breakfast prepared by Liam and Lily before a busy rotation day. At 8, we headed off to the paddle board and managed to have nine people on the board at once (a record for Beso). Afterward, we took the Zests (sailboats) out for the first time; Elle had been waiting for this day all week. Madison and Lily managed to stay afloat the entire time. Emily loved being in charge of the main sail, with Liam in control of the tiller. However, for others, it was not so easy. Sophie and I got stuck in the dead wind for around an hour while Joey and Will capsized 11 times. Ben got a sick video on his GoPro of his and Hayden’s Zest as it flipped over. Even still, it managed to be a highlight of the day. We came back home to Beso and had some delicious Mac and Cheese for lunch. After lunch, we ended rotation day with watersports. Lilli, Will, and Madison also went for zoomies on the dinghy boat and shuttled other people around to their home sailboats. Ben did a 360 on the kneeboard while going in and out of the wake. For those who didn’t partake in water sports, we spent time with members of our sister boat Mango Tango. Finally, we ended our day with some fire veggie burgers and ice cream courtesy of Anthony.
