Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today we woke up at 7 o’clock to prepare for the big day. After a quick breakfast of oatmeal and cereal, Joey and I went over to a skipper meeting to discuss the upcoming sail race. We approached the starting line, and soon we were off. Izzy, Emme, and Sophia helped us become the first to get the sail up. For a good amount of time we were neck and neck with Nacho Dinghy, eventually they pulled ahead and we were faced with and egg and rotten food war with Pirate Song. Perice and Brian threw eggs and apples at them while Breccan used his shield to protect himself. We ended up failing miserably. After Sophie, Oon, and Mengmei helped deckie-ing, we got some shore time. After everyone’s amazing lunch, we set sail for the rough seas. Everyone had a fun time listening to music on the hard top and feeling the nice ocean spray on our feet. After we got on the mooring ball, we hopped down into the surprisingly chilly water. Everyone loved seeing the Willy T ship wreck, but was Eager to climb on board and get dry. Breccan and Pierce also found some old coins on the ocean floor. Once safely anchoring in Great Harbor Peter, the Minerva boats finally rejoined the fleet after a wonderful dinner of chili and rice, and we ended the night with a friendly game of poker.
