Today was an amazing day! We woke up after a good night slept at 7.00am and got ready for an action-packed day. We started day seven off strong with a delicious breakfast of french toast made by Mia and Jackson. There was also the option of our vast selection of cereal, but the toast had the most takers. We had a quick clean up session and then got prepared for our 8.00am dive at Mountain Point. We split our group and hopped into the water. Even though it was early, the ocean felt great. We saw tons of cool fish, coral, and underwater plants. After our dive, we put on our PFDs and headed to Vixen Point. Then, the Dolphins and Neptunes split up and did their respective activities. While the Neptunes had a boat lecture, the other Dolphins and I went for a snorkel in the mangroves. Due to Hurricane Irma, the mangroves were nearly destroyed, and all of the trees were stripped of their leaves, which was a sad thing to see compared to last year. There was still a fair amount of sea life, but it was nowhere as close to the amount of the previous year. After, we went to the beach and played a game. This involved scrambling into the water and feeling dizzy and confused to simulate being a baby turtle trying to make it safely to sea. It is very hard, and in fact, only around 1 in 1000 turtles make it to the water. Then, we all want back to ‘The Entertainer’ for a Hibi shower and to prepare for the first BBQ. What a day!
