Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

Today we woke up and immediately sent off our dirty laundry in a dinghy for laundry day. Then we ate breakfast – yogurt and Scarlett’s delicious sugary cinnamon bagels. After breakfast, we all got ready for our day sailing on Avizia. We sailed to Leverick Bay to fill up our water, and Max got us the cookies. Afterward, we sailed to Richard Branson’s private island. Necker and Evan helped Anchor us by it. Matthew, Daniel, Brendan, and Micah learned how to tac and do other basic sailing maneuvers on the way. Once we were there, we had fun swimming in the beautiful clear water. Luke took some cool, super close-up pictures of a big barracuda, and Cobrin practiced his backflips off the boat. Louella woke up from her nap and joined everyone in the water. She also read a whopping 200 pages of Violet’s book during our sail. We were taking turns using the goggles to look at the barracuda and other fish. For lunch, we had soup; Annika and I made a separate vegetarian soup which was great.

Once we were finished doing dishes, we picked up our anchor and set sail back to Mountain Point at Virgin Gorda. Cobrin did a great job manning the helm while sailing wing on wing. He maneuvered us through a very shallow channel by a floating restaurant/hotel island. Then Cobrin and I swapped on the helm, and I sailed us the remainder of the way. We finally got back to Mountain Point around 4:30 P.M., and Violet helped us anchor Avizia. We then got back to our boat, and Anya made us a Thanksgiving dinner while we were showering and listening to music. My squeeze question after dinner was, “What was the coolest sporting event or concert you’ve ever been to.” People had very cool events to share about. Matthew, Louella, and Luke did the dishes after dinner/squeeze, and we concluded the day talking and snacking afterward.
