This morning, we all woke up to the great feeling of AC and solid ground for the first time in 15 days! After a nice sleep-in, Charlotte, Casey, Hugo, Teddy (From Purejoy), and I went down to the dock to see the massive waves, the strong winds, and the rain that felt like needles, thanks to Ernesto. We then all dried up and walked inside to the amazing smell of buttermilk pancakes being made by Morgan and Ella. They made enough pancakes for every person on our three boats to have 3! While we were eating pancakes, we got to watch TV, which was very exciting. Once we all agreed we were done with watching TV, we decided to play a game of hide and seek across the massive villa. Ultimately, it came down to everyone looking for Maren, who was hiding in a bathroom cabinet. Once that was over, the storm started calming down, and we heard the news that we would be heading back to our boat at around 2. We then spent the next hour and a half cleaning and waiting for our taxis, which were slowed down due to damage caused by the storm. Once we got in the taxis, it was a quick ride back to Road Town. We got back to see our boat in perfect condition thanks to Will, which was definitely a lot better than many other boats both in the Harbour and around the islands. Hugo and I then presented our culminating research project for the dolphin program. For dinner, Alex prepared some pasta, sausages, beans, and rice for our boat. After a great dinner, we started winding down and preparing for a nice chill night, which will be our final forum, where we are all writing notes for each other. We are currently all on our boat, excited for another night back on the water.
