British Virgin Islands - 2024, Session 3

Good Times!!

Location: West End, Tortola

Hello everyone, and welcome to Good Times! We are so excited to kick off session 3 with a quick introduction to us, your staff team!

Will - SKIPPER
Will grew up on a sailboat in the Mediterranean with his parents and black lab before they moved back home to South Devon. After various stints in Greece working as a windsurfing instructor – and later, elsewhere in the world in super yachting – Will pursued a master’s degree at the University of Exeter to study Marine Environmental Management. Before graduation, Will accepted a Mate/Marine Scientist role with Seamester – becoming part of the GXG family. He loves surfing, climbing, and taking trips in his self-converted VW. Students have described him as “oh so granola,” but he’s still unsure what that means!

Kaleigh - DIVE INSTRUCTOR/MEDIA TEAM
Hailing from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Kaleigh is so excited to have the opportunity to share her love of living on a sailboat and exploring the underwater world this summer! A competitive swimmer from age 5 through high school, Kaleigh feels most at home on or in the water (60ft under). At 13, she stepped onboard her first ActionQuest boat and earned her Advanced Open Water; returning every summer, Kaleigh has built her diving and sailing qualifications, culminating with a trans-Atlantic and Mediterranean crossing on Seamester’s S/Y Vela at 17. The following summer, Kaleigh earned her Divemaster certification and, of course, her instructor cert. Kaleigh is studying at New York University, majoring in Film and TV Production.

Whitney - DIVE INSTRUCTOR
Whitney grew up in the coastal cities of San Diego, Shanghai, and Boston, laying the foundation for her love for the ocean. Set on becoming a scuba diver, she braved the chilly waters of Massachusetts to earn her first scuba certification at 15 years old. She continued to earn her following certifications in the warmer waters of Southeast Asia. After an epic gap year sailing from Palau to Thailand aboard S/Y Argo with Seamester, Whitney is now diving into her Environmental Science and Technology studies at the University of Maryland. She teaches college prep courses at nearby high schools when she’s not at the university. Whitney cannot wait to leave classrooms and start teaching underwater this summer!

Kyler - DIVE INSTRUCTOR
Kyler grew up worldwide, born in Australia and moving to the UK and Canada. Kyler is now undertaking a Master’s in Marine Biology at the University of Southampton in the UK. Kyler joined ActionQuest as a student in 2016, then attended the following year, and proceeded to do a Go Beyond trip in 2018. In early 2023, Kyler became a PADI dive instructor, earning his ICC powerboat license. He hopes to earn his Yachtmaster in time for 2025! Kyler spent much of his time growing up diving and skiing and exploring all the corners of the world. He is ready to explore the beautiful underwater world of the BVI with the next generation of AQ students and wants to share the same experience he received, like getting caught in your hammock when it rains!

Okay! Now you know who we are! In the next three weeks, we hope to see fair winds and following seas as we get underway here on Good Times!

Lots of love from the BVI,
Kaleigh, Will, Kyler, and Whitney
