Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
This morning, the DMs (Alicia, Nathan, Liam, Parker, Alli, and me) got woken up bright and early at 6:15 am while everyone else was still asleep. We got our kits ready super speedy, hopped in the dinghy, and rode over to a dive site called the playgrounds. We were all super hype to have a fun dive, and we all love this dive cause there are always really cool things to see. At first, we didn’t see anything, but then Mackenzie started screaming and dancing underwater because there was a massive eagle ray swimming right past us. With spirits high, we continued the dive, and then Mackenzie, Alicia, and I saw a shark off in the distance. Not even 5 minutes later, another shark swam right past us, and Liam got a sick video. When we got back to Nacho, everyone else was awake, and Peyton was off at a skippers’ meeting to get info about the race day. We all put on zinc and blasted music to get hype up for the race. All the sailors (Paloma, Tati, Peyton, Anne-Faye, Jack) cooked with the sailing, and mid-race Liam, Nathan, Parker, and Jack whipped out squishy apples and started chucking them at other boats. The other boats retaliated with eggs, which weren’t very fun to clean, as our deckie brush snapped in half mid-clean. Unfortunately, we got last in the race, but that doesn’t really matter. We got to West End and got a few hours of shore time to get lunch and go shopping.
We left west end to sail over to ghp which is where we are anchored for the night, this sail is pretty rough so we all lay out on the trampolines and got absolutely demolished by waves that came fully crashing over us. When we got to GHP, Alli did her 400m swim test, and then all the other DMs did the 800m snorkel. Personally I really enjoyed the snorkel I saw a massive stingray and so many jellies & fish. The sailors got kitted up for a dive and went for a fun dive around GHP while the DMs did our snorkel skills. After crushing snorkel skill,s we put on our gear and went down to finish up demoing skills. Alicia, Liam, Parker, and I were done, so we just swam around while we waited for the others. When everyone was done, we swam around together and had a chill, fun time. When we got back on the boat, we ate dinner, and now the DMs are studying hard for our big test tonight, and the sailors are getting ready to join other boats for sail chats. See you all soon!
