Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
There was no wakeup song this morning, so everyone seemed a little tired at first. Breakfast was some delicious French toast, which is my personal favorite breakfast here. I had at least three pieces; it was scrumptious—shoutout to Paloma and Aria for cheffing it up. We then hit the water and broke apart from the mega raft Sidney’s since we had Sidney’s BBQ last night. We started sailing, and the skippers decided to let Paloma, Jack, Anna Faye, and me sail mainly by ourselves with little feedback. Unfortunately, my hat became lost at sea RIP. We stopped at Sandy Spit for lunch and anchored here for the night.
The dive masters (Aria, Liam, Parker, Nathan, Allie, and Alicia), after lunch, went to act out a surprise rescue mission for the rescue boat to surprise them, along with having them act out the rescue skills that the rescue boat learned in person. Aria and Allie supervised because there weren’t enough rescue students, but they will be ready to act out the next rescue mission. Alicia and Nathan pretended to be unconscious for their performance. Liam and Parker were panicking in order to have the rescue students find a way to calm them down. While the dive masters were doing that, the advanced students all went snorkeling on the beach. We saw so many cool fish, such as a flounder fish, in addition to other extravagant fish. We also found an octopus in their hom,e and it was so cool to watch its eyes and tentacles stick out. We went back to the boat, our home, the Nacho Dinghy, and talked to the divemasters about their rescue performance. Apparently, the rescue students could’ve done a lot better; they’re still learning. The sailors all passed our knot exam #futuresailors. We had a delicious dinner, and now we were sitting up on top of the boat, watching the skyline, reminiscing about our time here so far. Overall, everyone agrees that it was a pretty great day. It has been a fabulous session so far. Couldn’t be happier with all the people on my boat. They’re all so amazing and special in their own way. It’s sweet that we’re on our final days, but we still have so many adventures that await us!
