“Who let the dogs out” was the wake-up call for this morning at abruptly 7:05 am. Anna, the current “boat terror,” quickly grabbed the camera and caught Spencer and Luke C waking up in the hammocks, startled by the blasting music. We then all ate breakfast, carried on with our jobs, and finally got to meet Grace, another one of us who arrived after many plane delays. We then started on our way and began to motor for about 2 hours to our first stop at Cooper Island, where Sofia and I took the helm and where Luke, Grace, and JT (our dive masters) went on their first dive of the session. Once we arrived, we set up for our complex lunch, consisting of PBandJ’s, and the seasickness for many people began to kick in. Despite the groans and failed persuasion to cancel the dive chat, we watched our dive videos and started filling in our dive books. After the video, we were free to swim, but that only lasted about 10 minutes. Then we were back on board and prepared to start our sailing journey to Mountain Point, with Katie taking the helm. I thought this was the highlight of the day as we had reggae music blasting, funny stories were told, and everyone got the chance to take the helm. Then, we made it to our destination while Katie and Ellie perfected our dinner spread of Alfredo pasta and used 48 hotdogs in the process! After eating, we watched another dive video, then took ocean showers along with the tarpons, and then we finished the remainder of our dive videos and quizzes. Anna struck again as she kept hitting the light switches. All of us were trying not to fall asleep, Maya’s excitement from the day filled the room, and Katherine was veering into her “delusional” mood where everything seemed to be funny. When these videos end, our day will end as we all scatter to find a place to sleep, so that wraps up day 3!

I love and miss you, Mom and Dad!
