Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda

Today was our first real day. Woken up at the crack of dawn, I knew today would be memorable. A quick breakfast of cereal was eaten and poof, the excitement began. After some hours of talking, waiting for fellow students, our day really began. We pushed off the dock, everyone with a smile on their face, and adrenaline rushing through their body. We took off full speed ready for our trip to begin. We learned about sailing, some of us about our first scuba dive, and about where we would be stopping. The island in sight, everyone began to relax. After some time of talking and getting to know each other, we arrived in the bay. With our swimsuits on, we lowered the anchors and dove into the water. We all completed 6 laps around the boat and ten minutes of treading water- happily, we were done with our swim test. We jumped off the boat and had our first showers. Soon after, we enjoyed a meal of sloppy joes, corn, and mashed potatoes. This was followed by recounting our favorite part of the day and answering our squeeze question “if you could live anywhere, where would it be, and why?” We all enjoyed chatting and getting to know each other. I think it’s safe to say these days will be unforgettable! date: Jul 31, 2017
