Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
This morning, we woke up and our instructors left for a staff meeting, so our amazing chefs, Ellis and Sloane, prepared French toast for breakfast. After we ate, those in the Dolphin program began writing their research papers while the Neptunes chilled. Around lunch time, we kitted up for our first dive and dinghyed to the site called “The Playgrounds.” As we arrived, Ellory masterfully put her dinghy driving skills to the test so we could secure on the mooring ball. We saw an abundance of beautiful wildlife, including a cobia and a Goliath grouper. Back on the boat, Maddie, Ellis, Addy, Zoe, Gabe, Kennedy, and I proceeded to make progress on our group projects after lunch. Not long after, the Dolphins got ready for a research dive while Ellory, Sloane, Addy, Arthur, Dillon, and Breckyn played card games on the boat. Then we all showered and had dinner before the Dolphins took a two-hour-long exam. During the test, Neptunes and the instructors hung out and played games. Dolphins finished the exam and decompressed before getting ready to sleep. What a day!
