Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today we all woke up at 6:30 after the best sleep I’ve had on the boat yet!!!!! Since I was skipper, I got to go to a meeting at 7:30 with skipper Amelia. We matched our fits, and in the meeting, we discussed the sailing race. We talked about where the race was and what positions each boat would start in. We pulled numbers out of a hat, and I pulled number 2, which was supposed to be the 2nd best one. After the super fast ride on the SUPER dink, I got back with breakfast cleaned up and everyone getting ready for the race. The night before, we all got our hair braided except for Zaver since his hair was too short. Then Kiera, Peyton, Lina, and Sam brought up the main sail, and we went to starting line, which was at “Sandy Spit”. Then there was a countdown over the radio, and the race began. With Chloe behind the helm, Sam on the main sheet, and Leo and Will on the Jib sheet, we were off with a fast start. Kiera, Thea, Will, Lina, and I were hiking, which was very exciting, with other boats coming through. When other boats came close, we quickly ran down to grab apples and launched them at the other boats. Sadly we started to notice we were getting passed by many boats. After being close to the last most of the race, we started to pick up speed, and we passed the boat “FriendShip,” which brought our spirits up. After placing 5th, we arrived at the same dock we were at the first night. Being back at the first dock brought back memories for everyone when we didn’t know what to expect and barely knew anyone. We had lunch ashore, which was sooo goood. Me, Kiera, and Lina had lunch at a coffee shop while Chloe, Peyton, and Thea had lunch at Omar’s, and Will, Sam, Zaver, and Leo had lunch at Pussers.
On shore, there was a grocery store which was epic and litty🔥!! We left at 2 o’clock and dinked back to our monohull. We started our 4-hour sail to GHP, which we did all by ourselves with help from the councilors. Once we arrived, we rafted up with FriendShip and began the ocean showers. Today for dinner, we had tacos which were soooo good!!! After eating the beans Thea farted during squeeze, which was fun. Then we had a screaming contest with the boat Beso del Viento which was far away. Now while writing the blog, we are getting ready for a movie night with the boat FriendShip, and I smell brownies which I’m very excited about!!!!
