Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
The day started off at 7:00 to a sunrise over the island pretty sleepy, but we got going with a bowl of cereal for everyone. And then we all got ready and headed down the docks to listen to the supreme overlord/head of ActionQuest, Mike, and after about an hour and a half, we took off back to the boat and prepared to head out to sea. Max checked the oil and emptied the water exhaust basket. We motored upwind.
To monkey point, we took our first segment of scuba education on the way. We had to take a quick break for fresh air. As we came back, we all got seated and realized that we were missing someone, and out on the net, Caroline had fallen asleep, so Erica went to go get her up. And then we all had to jump in the water to do the swimming tests. We had to swim around the boat five times and tried water for ten minutes. We raised sails for the first time and left for mountain point on Virgin Gorda. Casey, Max, Alex, will, Ariana, Bridget, Niko, and I all took turns piloting the 46ft catamaran. Along the way, we hung out with new friends and talked. At some point, the question of dream cars came up, and Maddie had been waiting for the question to come up and, without hesitation, said,”2011 Land Rover lr4!” We anchored, and Alex and Casey cooked dinner. As we ate, a seagull landed on the dinghy, and Maddy threw a piece of corn, and the bird ate it and flew off. We thought it was over. Little did we know the bird had only left to rally seagulls to circle the boat, and then we cleared our plates, then dove, and ate all the food, and after one last scuba class, we turned in for the night.
