Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

Day seven started at 7:45. We woke up excited for the scuba diving day ahead of us. For breakfast, we ate cinnamon toast and eggs which was delicious. Then at 10 am, we went over to Amused to get ready for our scuba lesson. On Amused, we learned hand signals, that we had to continuously breathe while underwater, and how to tell instructors how much air we have. Then we went to the scuba site. At the dive site, we got in the water to put in our air tanks with the help of the dive masters. One kitted up. We were taught how to inhale and exhale with a regulator in, how to ascend and descend safely, how to clear our masks of water, and how to perform regulator recovery. Then we went down and practiced these skills, which was a new and exciting experience. After diving, we went back to the boat and ate pbandjs. After that, we headed on over to the mangroves to snorkel. It was beautiful. We found all kinds of coral, plants, jellyfish, and baby barracuda. We went super fast in the dinghy, which was super fun. When we got back, we did ocean showers and then got to take hibicleans e showers in the freshwater. Then we picked up anchor and moved to Leverick Bay. We then walked around town exploring the local market while the water tanks got filled. After that, we got out phones and were able to talk to our parents, who we missed dearly. Finally, to end the night, Shape Up made their way to the camp-wide barbecue. We ate burgers and hot dogs and danced the night away. Can’t wait for the beach Olympics tomorrow! We are going to crush the other boats.
