Location: Great Harbor, Jost van Dyke
I woke on our night final passage to Virgin Gorda at 6:00 Am in the morning. Coming out of the salon, I was immediately greeted by a beautiful sunrise, and I climbed up to the power tower. I sat next to Davis on the helm and began taking pictures with my camera of the view, the ocean was calm, and the weather was clear. The next couple of hours passed, and we were back in the BVIs, our original starting point. While entering the archipelago, we saw one of Richard Branson’s (Virgin Enterprises Inc) private islands and resorts. I laid down for a quick Power nap, which lasted about 30 minutes before I woke up, and we arrived at our destination, The Baths.
The Baths is a very beautiful flat area on the end of Virgin Gorda. The water was impeccably clear and colorful. We conducted a quick post-passage boat cleanup before we moved to a further mooring ball that was closer to shore, where we go in a bit. Ari, Mark, Ian, Davis, Margaux, and I drove the dinghy over to the swim line of a small lagoon and tied off. We swam to the shore from there. Once at the shore with Aiden and Nick joining us, we walked through a series of caves to get to the jumping point, only about 10 feet high. After I jumped, I grouped with Ari and three Meow students as we walked back to the lagoon, where we swam for a bit until we had to head back to the boats to end our day with a sail to Great Harbor Point. When we arrived, we anchored and performed a raft with Meow. We had sea showers under the sunset and ate a dinner of burritos to satisfy after a long day.
