Today began with Ri waking up those of us who slept outside, and telling us to put our PFDs on as we were going underway to the Baths. After we did this and climbed back in bed we got as much sleep as possible before waking up for the second time to enjoy some oatmeal that Lorden and Alana got started for us—an amazing way to start the day. When Cat, Nathan, Hudson, and Lexi finish up in the dishy pit, it is time to get on the dinghy and go to The Baths, a famous rock site with wicked cool jumps. While venturing through the scratchy barnacles and sharp rocks, we eventually made it to the jumping rock. One at a time, everyone jumped, and it was great. But, when Hudson, Lorden, Nathan, Wesley, and me (Tate), saw the slow and long line back to the top we decided we would have more fun going back to the beach. After a good hour on the beach, Ri picked us up in the dinghy.
Thankfully, nobody got scraped! When we arrived back at Aloha, we prepared for shore day by taking a hibicleanse shower. This is when Ri, Siena, and Rachel began sailing to Spanish Town. As we arrived, everyone immediately started for the burger joint. Although everyone else’s food was served within 10 minutes, Jaden, Nathan, Wesley, and I’s food took what felt like a long 30 minutes. Even still, the delicious wings and burgers we got were well worth the wait. When we finished our food we then went to shop and look for snacks we could eat on our boat. While exploring the shops, we found a lot of cool stuff, including a football, which would be great for our boat. We also found the supermarket where we could buy some chips for our boat. It was getting to almost 2 o’clock, so we had to go back to the boat and go underway to a place where we could dive. When everyone finally got to the boat, we slowly pulled out of The Baths, and this is when Ri took me up to show me how to sail. After a few tacks and a little bit of some trouble we got to our anchor spot in the end.
We set up our dive gear, and we jumped in the water. When we were there, Ri and Rachel taught us some rescue maneuvers. There would be one person panicking and one hero, and the person panicking would yell, “Pizza!” And “I’m drowning,” and the hero would try their best to inflate the victim’s BC. After We got through all our exercises everyone was exhausted and ready for dinner. So we took some freshwater showers, and Hudson and Alana began cooking us some beef stroganoff. When they finished, It was surprisingly good, and after a while of chatting and dishy pitting, we finally sat down for a search and recovery lecture.
