Location: Savannah Bay, Virgin Gorda

Hey Parents! This is Eve, the skipper for today…

We started off the day with a 7 am wake-up in Savannah Bay. Catalina and Hudson cooked breakfast, which was eggs and muffins. Yum!! After breakfast, we got changed into our suits immediately loaded up the dinghies, and made our way to the beach from our boats. For rescue, we had to do some navigation review using a compass. Once we were done with the review on the beach, we got some time to swim and spend time at the beach. After that, we loaded up the dinghies again and made our way back to the boat for our navigation dive. We motored the boat over to Sand Circles and briefed for the dive, then kitted up. On this dive, we used the navigation skills we reviewed. Right when we were descending, Alana, Tate, Tyler, Jaden, Catalina, Lorden, and I all saw a nurse shark swim right in front of our faces. I love sharks!! After completing the skills, we took our fins off and played around in the sand doing a “moon dive.” Hudson and Lorden did some flips and Alana and I were looking at some coral and did some flips in the sand as well. Once we surfaced, Alana and I took a mini tanning nap before lunch! We had sandwiches for lunch! After lunch, I took the helm and motored us back to Savannah Bay for our Rescue Skills #1 (tired diver)!! This was when we practiced some rescue techniques for what we would do to help a tired diver. After practicing those skills, we got back on the boat, swam for a little and started taking our ocean showers! Ocean showers have to be my favorite thing to do at the end of each ActionQuest day. Once everyone was showered, Huddy and Catalina prepped some dinner for us; we had white rice and chili! Delish! After dinner, we had a squeeze and a fun clean-up while I am writing the blog to y’all right now! We are going to finish the night with another rescue lecture on more skills we are going to practice tomorrow! Today was a busy but fun day, and I can’t wait to be rescue-certified!

Have an amazing night!

PS. A note to my parents personally: I am having so much fun with my shipmates and am so happy to be down here again! I hope you are all doing well, and I miss you all very much! Tell Asher I said Happy Early Birthday! Love y’all!
