Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Day 8 aboard Nomada Caribena was full of adventure! We started our morning by abruptly being woken up to move the boat from Anagoda back to Mountain Point. After our 3-hour sail, we made it back to Mountain Point. Then everyone, except for the dive masters, got on another boat to go sailing! On the other boat, we all did rotations of people pulling up the sails and steering the boat! Avery, Aubrey, and Harry were really good at keeping the wheel straight while steering the boat! Once we were done with rotations, we got to our lunch spot. For lunch, Maude cooked everyone delicious grilled cheeses. At our lunch spot, we saw a ton of jellyfish floating around the boat, so no one got in. After lunch, we sailed back to our home base, Mountain Point, and got back onto our own boat. Once back, Kate, Issy, Lana, Lucas, and I decided to go on an afternoon snorkel. Garry pointed us to a secret cove.
We started swimming over but ended up in the wrong spot. We saw a crack in the rocks that we thought we were supposed to swim through. We were all very skeptical of the scary-looking passage. While we were all waiting around for someone to build up the courage to swim through until Garry pulled up on the dinghy behind us and said, “Guys, what are you doing?” And we responded, “Going to the cave!” Long story short, that was not the cave, and the cave we were supposed to go to was a couple of hundred feet in the opposite direction. Once we got back to the boat, Georgia, Ned, and Lauren told us about their DM adventures of the day and their troubles navigating while diving today. We ended the night with tacos and a squeeze about tacos! The DMs are getting ready for a night dive, and everyone else is full and ready for another day aboard Nomada Caribena.
