Location: Pinneys Beach, St Kitts & Nevis

“Riley Riley Riley, Bazalright!” is what Walker is saying right now into the VHF as I sit down to write the blog. He’s been saying that all day since we woke up at 7, and Ellery and Mia made French toast for breakfast. Six of us had to dive at 8:30, so we gobbled down the toast with syrup and Nutella before hopping in the dinghy and heading toward the dock for diving. We got our gear from a local dive shop and got onto a small dive boat where we set up our tanks and drove 5 minutes to the dive site. Drake and Im Im rolled off the boat backwards first and Tati, Mia, Ellery, and I followed. The site was a man-made shipwreck complex, and we saw a big lobster poking its head out of a ship and a lion fish sitting in the sand surrounded by garden eels. We surfaced and headed back to the dock, where the lady at the dive shop gave us some Dutch snacks, and then we headed back to our boat to chill. The next dive group, with Walker, Evan, Jackson, and JJ, left to dive. They saw sting rays, a turtle, a triggerfish, and a lobster. After diving, we made Mac and Cheese and then got ready to set sail to Nevis. We made three sailing watch teams with team leaders for the 7-hour sail. Jackson was the leader of watch team 1 with me, Evan, and Im Im. We raised the main sail and jib and set off for Nevis, sailing by St Kitts for most of the way, which sheltered the wind and made the sea pretty calm. At about 8, after every watch team had a chance to sail and steer, we anchored in Nevis in the dark and could see a beach club blasting music on shore. The chefs, Ellery and Mia, made Risotto for dinner, and we ate and cleaned up in the night. Finally, right now at 10 pm, everyone is showered in the ocean, tired after a long day of sailing and scuba.
