Location: St. Barth's
We woke up to Davis blasting surfing music around 8 am. We had cereal, did a quick rinse of our bowls, and then started to get ready to leave. When the taxi got here, Nick, Ari, and Davis all left on the first or second shuttle. Mark, Ian, Margaux, and I left on the last shuttle with the lunch food. The cab let us play music, so we played Greenback and Blink-182. We got to the beach and then played a game called Ninja with a bunch of people from the other boat. Then we got to the fun part of the day, surfing! It was surprisingly easy to surf, hitting a wave pretty early with some help. Ari was at one point waiting for a big wave to come, only to get wiped by a massive one after surfing for about an hour and a half. We ate lunch, which was delicious fresh baguette sandwiches, and then we hung around for a bit longer at the beach. We shuttled back to the dock and were granted 45 minutes to shower and buy whatever we wanted from the grocery store.
We came back and had a sail chat about the VHF certification for the test we’d have the next night. Then I played cards, Mark and Theo. Mark and I played a quick round of spit, and then we all played palace. Then I went over to the other boat to play Rummy with Ethan, Theo, and Mary. Pizza came, and we did. After that, we had a whole Minerva squeeze. After the squeeze, Margaux walked us all up to the gelato store so we could get ice cream! Then I went back to playing Rummy, with Ethan winning in the end. Then I studied for the VHF test with Mary. After that, we had a talk with Ari from the other boat about shows, games, and other random stuff.
