Welcome to Meow or Never’s third blog! Today consisted of three main parts: meals and swimming, sailing, and of course, the dive chats. First the meals and swimming! The meals were pretty normal. However, Tyler (he runs the power boat that has our dive equipment) and Max (not the student Max, a ‘facilitator of knowledge’ (instructor), came over later for dinner. Sailing was fun, everyone got to steer the boat for a while, and the ‘facilitators’ instructed us on how to raise and lower the sails and jib, with Reese, Brij, Reid, and I doing much of the cockpit work for both sails (Brij driving, Reese easing, while I used the winch to control the sails). We stopped on a mooring ball for lunch, and Max, Enya, Eliza, Lizzy, and Sophie put the lines through, and Dalila and Georgia pointed and called distances. After sailing for four hours, we reached our overnight destination. We happily played in the water, had ocean showers, and did our best jumps off the side. That’s when Tyler came over, and we had a funny prank where we all, with complete seriousness, lined up and shook his hand (he’s not a formal guy, but they told us he was). After, we did a dive chat and learned how to put our kit together. Annika and Tyler did a funny demonstration about atmospheric pressure making a human ball to demonstrate the lungs expanding. We all laughed and ate some delicious pasta. My squeeze question was about pizza; the most controversial answer was chicken Cesar salad pizza. Now we are setting up hammocks for the night to sleep!
