Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island

Today we slept in a little until 7:30, but Katie W. And Maya both woke up at 5:30 am to watch the sunrise and clean the salon. After we woke up, the facilitators on our boat had to leave for shore for a staff meeting and left us to make pancakes and clean the boat. Everything went smoothly until we decided to clean the stove top off the stern of the boat and accidentally dropped it in the water. “Good news is that the stovetop is clean; the bad news is that it’s at the bottom of the ocean,” said Luke C to the staff as they came back; luckily, Max retrieved it. By 10:00 am, we were ready to set sail and motored to Trellis Bay which has a small airport, so we could see the small private jets coming in and taking off. On shore, we visited a few boutiques and ate lunch. Paige liked the small boutique and bought a nice shirt. Anna especially enjoyed her delicious lobster dish at Loose Mongoose. Katie W., Maya, Grace, and I all enjoyed our virgin cocktails and lunch by the beach. Spencer and Luke C enjoyed exploring the small village and talking to the campers from other action quest programs. We also learned about the coral reefs and conservation projects, as well as our role as ambassadors to the underwater ecosystems, which Katie S. Found particularly interesting. She also liked walking around the boutiques and purchased a gorgeous, hand-crafted pearl bracelet. After a few hours ashore, it was time to head back because we got our laundry back! After we received our bags and checked them for all our items, it was time to move to our destination for the night, Muskmelon Bay. This was my favorite part of the day because, as a skipper, I navigated the boat through a tight channel and saw beautiful islands on the horizon. The way there was breezy as we were jamming to some good music. We anchored around 5:30 pm. By then, it was time to start dinner and shower. This was Ellie’s favorite part of the day because there was a lack of breeze today, so taking a nice dunk in the cool ocean was long overdue. She took many pictures with the rest of the crew and enjoyed playfully pushing Anna underwater. On the menu for dinner tonight was chili; Luke C and JT prepared a delicious spread of rice and chili. We also had a few guests on board, extra staff members, who contributed to very lively conversations as we ate. As skipper, I led squeeze at the end of dinner and asked everyone: if you could have one superpower, what would it be? There were some interesting answers like being able to fix anything, speak any language you want, have gills, and the classics like invincibility, flying, and super speed. After dinner, we enjoyed the sunset and took many pictures. Unfortunately, the pictures do not do them justice. Paige, Maya, and Max killed it with dishes tonight. The trio worked at lightning speed with much efficiency. Our divemasters, Luke A., Grace, and JT, left after dinner to go on a night dive and hoped to hear about all the cool things they saw. As the day is winding down, we are all dispersed on the boat doing our own thing, but we will come together one more time tonight for an evening activity.
