Location: West End, Tortola

It’s hard for me to believe that we’ve already come full circle and we’re back on the dock in West End where this whole adventure began. We’ve returned from our time out at sea with some new training and certifications, as well as some new friends. Charlotte and Kiera are now certified open water divers after doing a great job on their last open water dive! My other two open water students, Brock and Tiago, took like fish to the water and had a blast on our last dive on the wreck of the Rhone. Nell and Helena both had a wonderful time hanging out with Lifeworks in the Quest program, and their stories of trying to catch turtles in Anegada are fantastic. Nell has also become our resident knot queen and has been teaching new knots to the rest of the boat. Jake’s advanced group of Barracudas (Leo, Alonso, Jakob, and Teddy) are leaving this trip with not only advanced open water certifications, but their night diver, boat diver, and underwater naturalist specialties as well. The whole “red team” of Barracudas all became fine sailors as well. Kiera, Eliza, and Jake all celebrated very special birthdays down here, and we’re wishing them all a wonderful year. Beyond all the certifications and training acquired on this trip, every student on board Laurasia is leaving with a boat full of new friends. To Nell, Helena, Charlotte, Leo, Teddy, Jakob, Eliza, Alonso, Brock, Tiago, and Kiera: Liam, Jake, and I are so proud of you all! We would love to dive and sail with you any day. Hope to see you all next year!
