Location: West End, Tortola
The crew of Catalinaville is extremely excited for the arrival of our shipmates! Having completed session one, we are so excited for our next group of students. Our boat is filled with water food and PADI books. Dive gear and PFDs are on board. All that’s missing is our 14 students and we couldn’t be more excited.
Here is an introduction to the crew of Catalinaville:
Emelia: Skipper/Dive Instructor
Born and raised in Washington, DC, Emelia started with ActionQuest in 2008 as a shipmate. She decided AQ was the place to be and returned as a student for the next six summers, eventually joining the staff team as a Divemaster in 2013. Emelia is now a PADI scuba instructor and holds her 200 ton Master of Yachts certification. Outside the AQ universe Emelia studies anthropology and biology full time at the University of San Diego, where she also trains and performs as an aerial acrobat in a local circus.
Davis: Dive Instructor/Mate
Davis grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where he learned to dive at a young age with his father and brother. Knowing he loved adventure, he spent a lot of time torn between diving and rock climbing, his other passion. But, after gaining his Rescue Diver certification through ActionQuest in 2009, he realized his love for the water swamped that of the mountains and went on to become a dive instructor in 2012. Davis recently graduated from Eckerd College and hopes to continue working as a dive instructor in his time in between summers at ActionQuest.
Adam: Dive Instructor/Medic/Mate
Adam is from Scarsdale, NY and came to ActionQuest as a shipmate in 2011. He immediately fell in love with diving, sailing and the BVI and subsequently returned every summer, working his way up through the Divemaster level. Adam is now a Dive Instructor, EFR Instructor and an instructor of numerous PADI specialties, and holds a Wilderness First Responder certification. During the year, Adam is studying biology and is pre-med at Washington University in St. Louis. There, he is on the sailing team, conducts biology research and helps plan concerts, comedy shows, and other large events on campus.
