Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Day 8 ate! This morning, we woke up and enjoyed a mound of pancakes made by Katherine and Drew. Then we sailed away for a very, very long time. Will sorted us into our Hogwarts houses/sail team. Everybody took turns hemming and sheeting in or easing out the jib and main sheet. Right after her shift, Olivia took a fat nap that lasted the rest of the sail trip. Chloe then finished our sailing trip off by driving us all the way to Muskmelon. We enjoyed a peaceful moment by turning off the music and sitting in silence, listening to the ocean and the wind filling our sails. It’s relaxing here because no one else is around. Everyone jumped in and snorkeled around the reef. We encountered a super rare spotted eagle ray. Then Jace, Katherine, Hannah, Maddie, Chloe, George, YoYo, and Mimi went flipping off the dinghy while Marianne, Natalie, and Drew relaxed in the water. Zoe took everyone on an adventure to go see brown-footed boobies on the other side of the island. We came back to find a lovely Thanksgiving dinner made by the counselors.
